Welcome to Nantucket’s member and non-member fishing club!

Our goal of the club is to have a place where everyone and anyone has the chance to weight a fish and get on a local leader board. Many of the existing fishing tournaments and clubs in Nantucket are on a weekend or of private status. Nantucket Rod and Reel Club will hopefully start a tradition that will continue on island and sustain a leader board for years to come.

In the interest of keeping fishing fun and enjoyable for everyone involved there will be minimal rules as we hope good sportsmanship will prevail.

The club will be divided into three groups. Mens, Womens and Juniors. Juniors will be from 2- 12 years of age. The leader board will include 12 types of fish, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Sea Bass, Fluke, Scup, False Albacore, Bonito, Cod, Haddock, Pollock and Mackerel.

The official weight will be taken in pounds and ounces. In the case of a tie the winner will be the first fish  caught.

Species that are not in season will not be counted for weight in as we support sustainable fishing

There will be two categories, beach and boat. The federal and state waters that surround us will dictate the areas and times that species can be caught. It is at the anglers discretion to abide by those rules and regulations.

Weighting in of fish will be done at Slip 14 and due to the fact that we are running a full time business the weight in time will be from 3pm-5pm.

The website will be updated weekly so that every one can see the leader board along with the physical leader board located in “The Shanty” at Slip 14 Restaurant.

As this club is brand new and will be evolving as the years go on we welcome all comments and suggestions via email at the address on the website.
